3 ways to approach content marketing over Christmas

December is always a bit of a weird month for business. Some people are plowing ahead and making the most of every second until the end of the year. Other people are half clocked out and would rather be watching Christmas films. So some people won’t be paying attention to you until January while others are still listening to you and even considering working with you. 

Keeping up with content marketing is worth it - for the people who are still switched on and for the almighty algorithm. That being said, what are you supposed to post over Christmas and New Year when people are in the holiday daze? It’s up to you. Here are some options. 

Holiday greetings

I know everyone loves banging on about the algorithm but I prefer writing for people instead of robots. If you feel like you need it, break away from your usual content schedule and just share a couple of posts with Christmas and New Year wishes. Who cares what the algorithm thinks? A piece of content, whatever it is, is a reminder that you and your business exist.

This is the time of year for reflections. Why not share your own and some food for thought on what your potential client could be reflecting on? Sharing your reflections is a chance to demonstrate your humanity and peak people’s curiosity. Giving some prompts for reflection to your audience encourages them to make reflections about your area of expertise and how they achieve even more in that area next year with your help.

Entry level series

People’s minds will be elsewhere so we don’t want to give away our best value during the two weeks of Christmas and New Year because it probably won’t hit the same. You can still give a series of valuable insights to prove yourself to be a reliable source of knowledge and support. Share accessible, easy to understand and simple to implement tips that they can take into account now or in the new year.
